Main Street “co-housing light” project aims to bring residents together
A unique housing project dubbed “co-housing light” is proposed for the corner of Main Street and Ontario Place, between East 41st and 42nd avenues.
Tomo House will have 12 residential units, four of which will be “affordable ownership” units, as well as nine parking spaces and 15 bicycle parking stalls.
The project aims to bring residents together with several shared amenity spaces, including an 1,100 sq ft. “common house”, with a large kitchen, dining area and laundry facilities.
There will also be a shared courtyard, and the two studio units in the building will share a kitchen and dining space. The one, two and three bedroom units will each have their own individual facilities.
Landscaping will include shared garden plots, and built-in benches and planters. The architect is Marianne Amodio Architecture Studio.
The project heads to an open house February 1st, 2018, from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Baha’i Centre, 5880 Main Street.
